Meet Pastor Ken Whitt
The second child of six children, I was the first son born to Joe and Julie Whitt on August 22, 1954. My mother took my brother, 3 sisters and me to church as young children. My youngest brother was not born until I was 16. My Dad was saved when I was 7 years old and the whole family attended church faithfully. Every time the doors were open we were there. I thank the Lord for that. I was convicted of the fact that I was a sinner needing a Saviour when I was 8 years old. Two years later I trusted Christ as my personal Saviour and was baptized soon after.
I began teaching a Junior Boys Sunday School class at 18. Not long after that I began doing some lay preaching. Under the direction of the Lord a couple of years later, my wife and I moved to another church. We worked in the bus ministry, Sunday School, children’s church, choir, teen department, senior citizens, visitation and AWANA. After several years of lay preaching, I surrendered to full-time service for the Lord in 1981. I then attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC under Harold B. Sightler. I was an assistant to the Pastor in a church in Greenville. Bible Baptist Church is the third church I have pastored. We just celebrated our 11th anniversary here. I thank the Lord for being so good to me and my family. We look forward to many more years of faithful service!
If there is anything I can help you with personally, please feel free to contact the Church.
